DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague

Located in a renovated industrial building, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague is a must for every art lover. Established in 2002 with the purpose of encouraging the growth of the local artistic community, DOX will grab your attention not only for its various art exhibitions but also for its unique architecture. Baby Bio, Prague

Two "underground" movie theatres in Prague, Kino Aero and Kino Oko, joined forces and gave birth to the "Baby Bio" project. The initiative presents special screenings that allow parents to bring their young children to the cinema with them. During these viewings the lights in the theatre are dimmed and the level of sound reduced, providing a cozy atmosphere for children. Parents are allowed to keep their babies close and even strollers are permitted into the cinema. So if you're looking for a place to go with your little ones, remember: every Tuesday morning at 10am in Kino Oko and every Thursday morning at 10am in Kino Aero.

Navigators

Some call their music emosoul, some funky, some even call it R'n'B. However you want to label them, one thing is for sure - the Navigators are a breath of fresh air on the Czech music scene. Their second album "My place" came out in April and is worth paying attention to not only for its urban vibes but also for its overall marketing. Here are just a few examples of what you can expect. The album will be available for download from iTunes in June.

Kino Světozor, Prague

So what's so special about a cinema? Well, for one Kino Světozor is not your ordinary movie theatre, it's what one would call an 'art house'. The history of Světozor dates back to 1918, when the first screening took place. In 1968, following the Montreal Expo '67, the cinema became the home for the Czechoslovak invention Kinoautomat, the world's first interactive movie, in which the audience determines the plot of the film.

After a rather turbulent history, the cinema underwent serious renovation on the occassion of its 90th anniversary in 2008. The modernization of the art house resulted not only in a new interior, but also new opening hours, dramaturgy, as well as overall presentation and marketing.

An example of the modern features of the cinema would be the Adoptive Parents Club, which allows fans to adopt a chair in Světozor for the period of five years. This initiative is yet another factor that differentiates the art house from every other multiplex cinema. And if that's not enough, then you may also be pleased to know that this year the Kinoautomat returns to Světozor during the months of May and June.

Blox 2010, Prague

Prague has seen the opening of the temporary art centre by Touax, located in the Southern part of the city- Háje. The art centre is part of the 3rd annual festival "Street For Art" and will be open to visitors till May 22. The name of the centre - Blox mirrors its surroundings, given that the gallery is located in the Prague projects.
