I have been meaning to write about the iconic Czech designer Libuše Niklová for some time now. Her inflatable and plastic toys of the post-war era (particularly the 60s) have influenced generations of children and adults. Yet while almost every Czech will remember her typical designs, few will associate them with her personally. At this year's Designblok her name came up once again, as the company
Fatra introduced the re-edition of Niklová's toys, as well as new designs by young Czech designers. All these toys are now available for purchase on
Fatra's online store. Here is a tasting of some of the exquisite designs now available.

Also available for purchase is a book about Libuše Niklová's life and her designs, published in Czech and English bilingual form.
